When a washed-up sailor spreads word of the existence of a fountain of youth, Britain, Spain, and the pirates that plague their waters each chart a course for it. Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) is employed twice over in the search for the fountain, first by the king of England, and secondly by Angelica (Penelope Cruz), an ex-lover and the daughter of the infamous pirate Blackbeard (Ian McShane).
