A surprising, funny, and heartfelt toast to a fallen friend—with an earnest call for mental health care.
Regan Humphrey
College friends Elise (Goldie Hawn), Annie (Diane Keaton), and Brenda (Bette Midler) are heartbroken to discover that Cynthia (Stockard Channing), one of their own, has committed suicide. They discover the depth of Cynthia’s plight when it becomes their own—each of their husbands soon divorce them for twenty-somethings, just as Cynthia’s did shortly before her death. Out of despair and anguish, Elise, Annie, and Brenda decide to get revenge on their philandering and disloyal ex-spouses.
