An adequate, moody, indie hello to a momentous franchise.
Regan Humphrey
17-year-old Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) has few expectations, after leaving her bright, arid midwest existence for a rainy, gray one in Forks, Washington. Her wall-flower life is disrupted forever when she becomes the center of attention in her new high school, catching the eye of practically every guy in town—even that of her famously aloof classmate: brooding and mysterious Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson). Falling in love with Edward is almost as insane as the truth about who and what he is, a vampire.
