Dance with Me (1998)

Come for the ballroom dancing, stay for the singular chemistry of Vanessa Williams and CHAyanne.

Regan Humphrey

After his mother’s death, Rafael Infante (Chayanne) moves from Cuba to Texas. There, under the auspices of needing a job, he hopes to connect with his father—John Burnett (Kris Kristofferson), a retired professional ballroom dancer who owns a studio in Huston. While working as a handyman for the studio, Rafael meets one of the dance instructors, Ruby (Vanessa Williams), a ballroom professional reacclimating to the world of competition after heartbreak and failure. The two clash at first, but later connect through their love of dance. In fact, they both long for the same thing—home.
