An unusual and welcome concoction: A horror movie with heart.
Regan Humphrey
Unusual things don’t happen in the average mid-size town of Middleburg. And when that begins to change, teen protégée Frances Bacon McCausland (Erin Chambers) certainly doesn’t expect to find herself at the heart of the chaos. When mysterious large scale pranks take public attention in her town, she is convinced a logical explanation lies beneath it all. But the only person who believes her–and knows that she isn’t the one behind the pranks–is imaginary: Larry Houdini (Eric “Ty” Hodges II), an imaginary friend sent to investigate the happenings. Larry suspects the culprit is a boogeyman–an imaginary friend who, after being abandoned, has become monstrous and cruel. Despite the implausibility of it all, to save her town and clear her name, Frances teams up with Larry to track and confront the boogeyman once and for all.
